LEEDS — The Leeds Arts Council received a grant for roof repair on Monday, January 31.
According to the Leeds Arts Council, Alabama State Representative Dickie Drake presented Leeds Arts Council with a check for $10,000 through the Jefferson County Community Service Fund. These funds will be used for much-needed roof repair.
“This is not the first time that Drake has helped Leeds Arts Council in their time of need,” adr Business and Marketing Strategies, Dona Bonnett said. “Drake also presented a $10,000 check to them in 2019 through this community service fund so the arts council could purchase a new HVAC system to replace their worn-out system.”
Leeds Arts Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the visual and performing arts in the local and surrounding communities. Organized in 1985 as part of the Jefferson County Community Schools and then, became a separate entity in 1993 gaining its 501(c)3 status.
Leeds Arts Council presents live plays, live music and concerts, acting classes, arts and theatre summer camps and so much more all throughout each year.
