Are you having problems with your brakes, tires or any other area of your car and would you like some information before you go to the gas station? Do you need to find a part for your generator or do you want to learn how to maintain your lawnmower? Well your answer is just a library card away!
The Lower Merion Library System provides access to two PA POWER Library e-resources for the maintenance and repair of automobiles and small engines. Check Car repair source and Reference center for small engine repairs for everything from part numbers to tuning ups for cars, boats, lawnmowers, motorcycles, generators and more. Car repair source is an up-to-date e-resource for service and repair information for most domestic and overseas vehicles. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) provide all of the content, including repair information, diagrams, maintenance schedules, parts and work estimates, service bulletins, and recalls. First select the year, make and model of your car, then select the component you want to learn more about, from airbags to wheel alignment.
There are step-by-step diagrams for almost every repair, from installing a new battery to testing the AC unit to finding out the tire pressures for your car’s tires, as well as tabs for basic engine component locations, diagnostic trouble codes, and so on. Engine types other than automobiles, including motorcycles, generators, lawn mowers, snowmobiles, marine and boat engines, tractors, and jet skis, are covered in the Small Engine Repair Reference Center’s e-resource. Repair guides, routine maintenance, repairs and dismantling are topics covered in small engine repair. With an advanced search option, you can search by product type, model or engine type, model numbers and specific areas of the model or engine type with print or download permission granted for individual use. So if you want to get your old Honda Fourtrax 200SX working off-road, or need to test the capacitor on your NorthStar PG 165912 generator before the next snowstorm, Small Engine Repair can help you figure out the next steps.
Auto Repair Source and Small Center Repair Reference Center serve as a guide to understanding the components of your car or small engine.
