Eastern Camden County Regional and Audubon (N.J.) school districts have won approval of bond proposals that will pay for HVAC upgrades.
Voters in the Eastern Regional district approved a $10 million bond issue that will pay for an improved HVAC system at the nearly 60-year-old Eastern Regional High School, reports The Courier-Post.
The extensive repairs are needed to provide cool and clean air to the entirety of the 404,000-square-foot school. Part of the building has never had air-conditioning.
Audubon voters gave the school district the green light on the $27.8 million project to upgrade HVAC systems and fix masonry of all three of its schools’ exteriors.
The bonds also will pay for playground improvements at Haviland Avenue and Mansion Avenue Elementary schools; and upgraded grandstands, tennis courts and basketball facilities at the high school.
