Snake catchers have found three reptiles in two air conditioning units in less than a week.
Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers’ Stuart McKenzie removed a carpet python from an air conditioning unit at a house in Buderim, Queensland on Wednesday, November 3.
Mr McKenzie was called after an air conditioning technician found the snake curled up inside amongst wiring while he tried to fix the unit.
An air conditioning technician found a carpet python (pictured) curled up inside a unit to keep warm on an overcast day in Burderim, Queensland.
“I tell you what, he’s warm,” Mr McKenzie said in the video, prompting the aircon technician to explain the unit had been running while the snake was still inside.
Mr McKenzie explained the aircon compressor was “a nice warm spot to curl up on this overcast day” for the carpet python in the Facebook caption.
“It’s crazy where snakes can squeeze into and make themselves comfy! Snakes are incredible creatures and as long as you give them the respect they deserve they will never mean you any harm,” he wrote.

Four days earlier, Mr McKenzie found two carpet pythons inside an air conditioning unit at a family home on the Sunshine Coast in another video posted to Facebook.
“We have been to this family’s house before for a Brown Tree Snake in their Aircon and this time they had two snakes in there mating! I headed over straight away and was able to get the larger one out, but unfortunately the smaller one snuck through the barriers I created and got back into the walls of the house,” he captioned the post.
“The family is going to fill up the hole with expander foam so that this stops happening. Snakes getting into aircons does actually happen every now and then and they can be tough to get out.”
Mr McKenzie previously found five carpet pythons at one house in Buderim last month.

The snake catcher had some advice for people wishing to reduce the chance of snakes ending up on their property.
“It’s a matter of reducing hiding spots, making sure you don’t have any rodents around and just maintaining the yard as best as you can,” he told Australian Community Media at the time.
Mr McKenzie and his colleagues at Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 currently star on TV show Aussie Snake Wranglers, which airs on National Geographic.
