BARTONVILLE (HOI) – Voters in Limestone Community High School District 310 will be asked next month to accept a property tax increase to install air conditioning in the school and make other improvements.
The $ 7.8 million referendum would reduce air conditioning in 70 classrooms, the cafeteria, kitchen, and snack bar, according to a press release emailed to the media on Wednesday finance both gyms.
There is currently air conditioning in five dedicated classrooms, the auditorium, the library and the district offices.
The referendum would also pay off for the expansion of the band room and the renovation of the rest of the music grand piano.
If voters approve the April 6 referendum, the owner of a $ 100,000 home would pay about an additional $ 72 per year for 10 years.
Administrators found that Limestone is the only high school in Peoria County and the Mid-Illinois Conference that is not fully air-conditioned.
