HVAC Expert December 17, 2021

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Fairview and Arlington firefighters responded to a report of a restaurant filled with smoke earlier this week.  Patrons and employees of Cosimo’s Trattoria on Delafield Street in Poughkeepsie were forced to evacuate the building on Tuesday at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Firefighters responded to the restaurant near Marist College and found smoke in the structure.  The first responders worked to ventilate the building while others proceeded to the roof to investigate possible causes.

According to Fairview Fire Chief Tim Gilnack, the source of the smoke was a motor in the HVAC unit that had burned up.  The unit was disconnected on the roof and the firefighters were able to pack up their equipment and go back in service within an hour of responding.
