The freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall that hit most of the state last week weighed on local supply capacities and damaged water systems in residential and commercial areas.
To minimize the financial impact of repairs residents will make as a result of the storm, the City of New Braunfels announced plans to waive fees for permits related to the weather event.
Residents applying for a plumbing permit or a permit to work in connection with water or weather damage are asked to mark the project as “Heavy Weather Repair” upon request for exemption from fees.
In addition, the city will prioritize and expedite plumbing permit review, inspections, and plumbing company registrations for storm repairs.
