Mysterious HVAC man had the paperwork to prove it: Hunting Valley Police Blotter

Suspicion: South Woodland Road

Police were called to a home around 11 a.m. on Jan. 24 where residents reported that about 40 minutes earlier, a suspicious person had been in the area, perhaps trying to gain entrance into their house.

He was described as a White man of average height, bundled up due to the weather, who approached the resident in reference to a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) job for which he claimed to have the paperwork in hand.

This all came as news to the homeowners, who told police that he did not appear to have arrived in any vehicle nearby.

Officers checked surrounding properties but were unable to locate the suspect, who had apparently left the area.

Car crash: South Woodland Road

A Mayfield Heights man, 19, escaped injury on Jan. 29 after striking almost head-on the face of a guardrail across Route 87 shortly after 5:30 p.m. near Falls Road.

As a result, his 2008 Dodge Caliber sustained disabling damage after he was traveling westbound, passing the stop sign and making a right to continue on South Woodland but losing control, crossing the center line and running off the left side of the roadway.

Estimated speed upon impact was 35 mph in the 40-mph zone.
