Midlands School In “Bad State Of Repair” To Undergo Major Renovation Works

The task will eradicate the leaky roof and sewer odors.

A school in Midlands battling with mold, moisture and sewage issues is going through main renovations.

Scoil Muire in Abbeyleix has been chosen for the 2022 Educational institutions Power Retrofit Pathfinder Plan.

The job addresses the leaking roof, sewage odors and includes total insulation of the developing together with a new heating process and windows.

Minister Pippa Hackett welcomed the news: “The college has been demanding modernization of its amenities for some time. I visited this faculty in June and the headmaster Aidan McEvoy confirmed me the poor affliction of the faculty.

The Offaly Senator is thrilled that this is getting tackled and that the faculty will reward from a significant energetic improve.

She says, “This function will symbolize a transformation to a modernized, sustainable, lower-vitality making for the long term, which includes a renewable heating method, extensive insulation and upgrading of exterior components, new LED lighting and solar photovoltaic panels, and airtightness work.”
