HVAC Repairs Nearing Completion at Washington High School |

HVAC Expert August 21, 2022

Heating and cooling upgrades are coming to Washington High School as the entire east wing has been renovated with new rooftop units that will replace the old steam boilers and window A/C units. This project was one of Washington High School’s renovations in the summer, with rooms being repainted and new sheetrock installed.

Washington Community Schools Superintendent Willie Stone said that these new HVAC improvements are a big step in creating a more comfortable learning environment. “We spent $3.8 million on renovating the HVAC systems in the old part of the high school, which is the east wing or the old junior high building. We’re at 27 new rooftop units to take care of our heating and cooling, and these changes will create a great learning environment for our students.”

The changes still have to be approved by the Fire Marshall, who will have to complete his occupancy and approve these changes. These HVAC changes will also be a part of the renovation plans that will begin next year for Washington High School. For more information about those changes, catch today’s Washington Page on AM and FM KCII or online underneath the Washington Page Podcast tab.
