TAMPICO – The village recently was awarded a $15,500 USDA community facilities disaster grant that it will use to help pay to upgrade the HVAC system in the Reagan Community Center.
The new system consists of six new rooftop units, a gas-fired furnace, and a split air conditioning system with associated ductwork electrical and gas piping.
The center, 202 W. Second St., houses the village’s administrative offices, a daycare, and the police department and it also is open to the public for community and private events.
The grant was part of $72,264,420 in United States Department of Agriculture funds being distributed to build and improve community facilities in rural Illinois, the USDA said in a news release.
