HVAC Expert November 29, 2022

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) – The Kearney Volunteer Fire Department (KVFD) was dispatched to West Pharmaceuticals at 923 West Railroad Street for a reported structure fire.

Pharmacy employees reported possible smoke and flames coming from the roof and ceiling area.

The KVFD crews investigated the area and found no indications of fire, and further investigations found that an HVAC vendor was on the roof just before the incident and had just started a rooftop unit.

Another employee was walking through the area at the time the unit was started, and dust from the rooftop HVAC unit was mistaken for smoke.
