At the University of Southampton we have an exciting opportunity for a HVAC Engineer.
We occupy a vast estate that is the lifeblood of our activities and this role will play a vital part in supporting our endeavours by carrying out the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance on both the Mechanical and Plumbing systems across the University, to keep our estate running.

You will have excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to plan and manage your own workload. You will be a positive and proactive problem solver and be able to manage a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance at the same time to ensure that work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will be a strong team player, but also be self-sufficient and able to work independently.
The successful candidate will hold a City and Guilds qualification and/or minimum NVQ 3 qualification in Mechanical or equivalent and have successfully completed a Mechanical apprenticeship or similar training programme. You will be familiar with H&S legislation and understanding of risk assessments, method statements, and how to apply these to planned and reactive maintenance. You will also have experience of maintenance of domestic and / or commercial Mechanical installations & appliances.
A full driving license is essential to travel to other local sites.
The basic hours are 35 hours per week but there is regular overtime available of approximately 6 hours per week.
