In last week’s session, Council dropped a large sum on a lie detector, and comfort at a fire station. Kevin Coleman was there.
The ordinance went all three readings before council appropriated $11,000 on a “Computer Voice Stress Analysis III” machine.
Finance and Technology chair Anthony Phillips said this will save money since the department has been renting a machine from the state and transporting it. He said training is included.
Council also spent $23,000 on three HVAC units for the Water Street fire station. This was missed in the annual budget, so it was passed as a separate ordinance on first reading.
Phillips said air conditioning is no longer a luxury, and besides, we want to take care of our emergency personnel.
