A Building Services Design Engineer (HVAC) who has excellent mechanical design skills or qualifications to work within the Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Design Team at Lancashire County Council.
Our Design & Construction Service is a multidisciplinary and specialised team comprised of Project Management, Building and Civil Engineering Design. We deliver a comprehensive £50m+ Capital programme which invests in the county council’s property and highway assets including schools, libraries, museums, offices, roads, bridges, culverts, and drainage systems. Our fantastic team has an array of experts from Architects and Architectural Technicians to Structural and Civil Engineers, Electrical and Mechanical Building Services Engineers, Landscape Architects, Geotechnical, Quantity Surveyors and Ecologists.
What we are looking for…
Creative and Inspirational Team Player – You’ll be a creative thinker who can inspire and integrate into a small, established team providing HVAC design solutions for a whole host of building projects – you’ll manage these from conception to completion – therefore we’ll need you to share your expert knowledge on Building Services Design (HVAC) and contribute to your team’s performance each step of the way – you’ll support the Principal M & E Building Services Engineer, working collaboratively to lead or support on a variety of refurbishment and new build projects – you’ll project manage and chair meetings, be confident and self-assured, with the ability to communicate with a range of technical specialists and partners and your assertive yet diplomatic approach will ensure projects are delivered in a timely, safe and professional manner
Building Services Design (HVAC) – We are seeking an experienced Building Services Design Engineer with a proven track record in HVAC design, to join our fantastic team of experts – your extensive specialist knowledge will contribute to feasibility studies, budget estimates, technical design and production of drawings and tender documents, considering health and safety implications, project management and more – your designs will include planning for various mechanical requirements such as Heating, Ventilation, Hot and Cold Water Services, Gas, BMS controls and lots more – we’ll also need you to be competent in navigating AutoCAD and or ReVit to create tender drawings – your knowledge and experience of thermal modelling or other specialist software design will also be a benefit – finally your designing of HVAC schemes will need to be sympathetic to both the building and end user needs whilst working with the wider team to achieve this
Innovation – You’ll be a specialist in low energy design and be passionate about sustainability and carbon reduction measures – your visionary and innovative approach will contribute to the decarbonisation of Lancashire’s wider infrastructure with projects such as replacing ageing heating systems with air to water heat pumps and lots more – our aim by 2030 is to have made significant reductions in our carbon footprint and achieve further climate change targets so your influence and contribution to this strategy will be invaluable to our team
