HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Commerce has announced that the City of Havre will be receiving nearly $300,000 in grant funding for HVAC upgrades to the Boys and Girls Club of the Hi-Line.
The Community Development Block Grant is for $297,050, and was one of four awards announced on Wednesday.
Golden Valley County is receiving $522,800 to replace the Lavina School Boiler, Lincoln County is receiving $600,000 to connect centralized water and wastewater to the Libby Creek community, and Missoula County is receiving $600,000 to fund expansion of the Povarello Center to provide homes and supportive services to veterans.
CDBG grants are available to eligible local governments, counties, cities, and towns. They may be applied for by local governments on behalf of special purpose districts, unincorporated areas, or non-profit organizations. Counties may also apply for planning grants on behalf of tribal utility authorities.
CDBG funding originates from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
