Air conditioning issues led to the early release of Alexander High School students on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022.
Alexander High School Main Campus students and staff will be released on an early schedule on Friday, Sept. 9 due to air conditioning issues at the campus.
The problem started Friday morning as the air conditioning was not working properly, leading to technicians being called to address the problem. Details about the type of technical issues have not been released.
Students will begin being released at 12:30 p.m. as parents will be allowed to pick up their kids at this time.
Lunch will be provided to students before being released as well as transportation being available for students.
United Independent School District shared classes will resume as normally on Monday.
“Safety and comfort for students and employees is a top priority and that is the reason for the early release,” UISD said in a statement.
“Technicians are working hard to restore everything,” added Susan Carlson, UISD Communications Director.
Parents are asked by UISD to call 956-473-5800 for questions or more information.
