A month on, repair of AC in RBM’s Pai Tiatrist Hall begins

MARGAO: A month after the central air conditioning system of the Pai Tiatrist Hall at Margao’s Ravindra Bhavan stopped working, the agency tasked with the job began the repair and installation of the AC’s screw chiller. Tiatrists  have pointed out that the repair began after the stipulated date for its completion, which was September 22.

The non-functioning of the AC hampered the staging of tiatr shows and other performances over the past month. Artistes and audiences were inconvenienced, as the hall was uncomfortably warm, despite the use of pedestal fans. The hall was even shut for a couple of days, before the tiatr community pushed for its reopening.

Agnelo Fernandes, Member Secretary, RBM, said that they had urged the agency to expedite the work.

The PWD had issued an order to Escube Air-conditioning Private Limited to ensure the timely completion of the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the screw chiller by the stipulated date of September 22.
