Hamilton to get $7.4M from Trudeau and Ford for HVAC, park upgrades and bike path

The federal and provincial governments are giving Hamilton $ 7.43 million for five area infrastructure initiatives.

The projects and their fees are:

  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) updates in general public structures, leisure facilities, and libraries valued at roughly $ 3.3 million.
  • Updates to the Gage Park walkways valued at somewhere around $ 1.5 million.
  • Public provider counter updates which includes bodily boundaries concerning staff and shoppers valued at about $ 1 million.
  • Upgrades to Andrew Warburton Memorial Park and Pipeline Trail valued at roughly $ 960,000.
  • A bicycle path that connects McMaster and Hamilton Common Healthcare facility, valued at close to $ 570,000.

City officers explained modernization of Gage Park and Andrew Warburton Memorial Park and Pipeline Trail should start out in mid-July and be done by December 31 this year.

City officials also stated the bike path, named the Health care Connector, was shovel-completely ready.

MP Filomena Tassi (Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas) said the Trudeau government will pay back 80 p.c of the value, even though the Ford federal government will fork out the remaining 20 per cent.
