It was in September of last year when KUAM paid a visit to the 911 call center where fire and police emergency dispatchers were feeling the heat. The air conditioning unit, a 30-ton chiller, had been down for weeks, and their only relief– several large fans. According to agency public information officer, Jenna Blas, a purchase order had been issued on Nov. 10 last year for the installation of a rented 50-ton air conditioning unit. The installation was completed the following week. Right before the new year, Guam Fire Department dispatchers moved back to the offices in Agana Heights their dispatchers made the move last Friday.
