Low and moderate-income Irving homeowners can now apply for grants to repair or replace their home’s air conditioning units.
Applications will be accepted June 20-29 on a first-come, first-served basis. Grants of up to $5,000 are available.
To qualify, residents must own their home, use it as a primary residence and meet certain income guidelines. For example, a family of four must have a household income of less than $77,900.
Grants cannot be used for repairs covered under a homeowner’s insurance policy. Window units are not eligible.
The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Check here for additional guidelines.
Applications are available online. They must be completed and submitted to the Housing and Redevelopment Office at Irving City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd.
