ZANESVILLE — Homeless Hands of Zanesville is getting a boost with a grant from the J.W. & M.H. Straker Foundation.
The foundation recently awarded the 501(c)3 nonprofit a $30,000 grant to pay for a new HVAC system for its Stepping Stone house in Putnam.
Homeless Hands Executive Director Tammy Clark said electric bills at the house have doubled in recent years.
The updated, more cost-efficient system will help save money down the line, Clark said.
Homeless Hands was founded in 2016. Its mission is to temporarily house homeless individuals and help them find work and a permanent place to live.
