Work to repair gas leak underway in Wrexham

A ROAD in Wrexham has been closed as engineers work to repair a gas leak.

Wales and West Utilities is currently working in the Whitegate Road area of ​​Wrexham.

The work, which is essential to keep the gas flowing to heat and power local homes and businesses, started today (Tuesday, February 22).

It involves a team of engineers working on the junction of Kingsmill Road and Whitegate Road and, at present, it is not known how long the repair will take.

So that engineers and the local community are kept safe during the work, it has been agreed with Wrexham County Borough Council that Whitegate Road will be closed at the junction with Kingsmill Road.

Kingsmill Road will also be closed in one direction, with traffic able to run in both directions on the opposite carriageway.

Wales & West Utilities Adrian Degg is managing this essential work and said: “We’re really sorry for the disruption of this emergency work may cause, and we appreciate the patience of local residents and road users while work is underway.

“Our team of engineers are working as quickly and as safely as possible to complete the work, and we will keep local people updated.
