Chelsea were far from their best in their win against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon but still managed to grind out the result and take home all three points.
This is essentially the most important thing for Thomas Tuchel and his team as they manage to stay comfortable ahead in the top four race.

However, the performance was once again very lacklustre and they can count themselves lucky to win the game, and Palace can count themselves hugely unlucky not to at least get a point from it.
Hakim Ziyech’s late goal won the game for Chelsea, but it was far from an easy game.
Tuchel has been speaking about the potential reasons for the lacklustre performance from his players, and he suggests that it might be due to the long distance traveling back from Abu Dhabi last week.
“We have six players with a cold from the air conditioning on the plane,” said Tuchel as reported by The Daily Mail.
“We have jet leg from Abu Dhabi and we had almost no player who slept well because of the time difference.”
Of course things like this are bound to have an effect. But unfortunately in this business, excuses will not wash and it is about getting results, and luckily Chelsea did just that so there is not even a problem here. It’s a results based business and as long as Chelsea do that, things are good!
