Accolades up for grabs this year include the Net Zero Impact Award, Training Initiative of the Year and prizes for heat pump and district heat innovations

Entries are now open for the 2022 H&V News Awards with 24 categories being contested this year.

A deadline of 27 May has been set to receive entries. This year’s awards is looking for examples of technical and service innovation across the HVAC sector, as well as recognising individuals that have looked to bring meaningful change to an industry facing huge pressures.

Among the categories up for grabs are Domestic Heating Contractor of the Year, Net Zero Impact Award and Heat Pump Project and District Heating Project of the Year.

Other prizes to be awarded on the night include HVAC Contractor of the Year and Training Initiative of the Year, as well as the Diversity and Inclusion Award. This seeks to honour initiatives or plans to create more diverse workforces across the HVAC industry.

A significant focus for 2022 is a growing recognition of sustainability and health-focused initiatives.

This includes the Net Zero Impact Award that looks to recognise products, projects or policies that can help meet national and global decarbonisation targets. This could include work that has shown tangible benefits around carbon reduction, energy efficiency improvements or wider efforts to address embodied carbon over the life of a building.

There is also an award for the Training Initiative of the Year looking for examples of skills programmes enacted by companies or organisations that has delivered demonstrable productivity or profit improvements during 2021 and 2022.

H&V News is also looking for entries for the Safety, Health or Wellbeing Initiative of the Year. The category is open to individuals or organisations in the building engineering sector that have introduced new methods to ensure the health, safety or improved wellbeing of a workforce or customers. A major aim of the award is to find clear ‘before and after’ comparisons about the impact of these initiatives on a company and its staff.

The full list of categories can be found here.

Entry for the awards is free. Shortlisted entrants will then be asked to present their entries in person to our expert panel of judges.
