Specialised HVAC engineering solutions
SME Richards Bay acknowledges that energy efficiency, dynamic balance, swift adaptation, accurate predictability, zero downtime, instant repair are all the parallels in which HVAC service providers are plunged- in a continuous race of keeping the industries running risk free operations.
Innovation is key to providing reliable and durable solutions whilst meeting cost saving demands. The various Richards Bay industries depict an epitome of this drive.
An extraordinary burden is placed on human operators’ physiological performance and health, although no compromise is made to maintain the necessary OHS standards. Likewise, the severity of corrosion, heat and dust, compounds to exceptional design requirements for the HVAC systems.
Equally important is the accurate management of conditioned air for life support and medical institutions which adds to the necessity of highly skilled and trained personnel. SME’s drive is to relentlessly improve in technical ability and client satisfaction. Analyses surpasses intuition, and it is this support-methodology which is engraved as a discipline to follow without exception.
Embracing the community
SME HVAC strives to uplift and re-invest in the community. As part of their outreach, they started to facilitate self-sustainable micro-farming training. Their first project was with the Mzingazi community as a local economic development initiative. Nazidi – Nawe Zifunze, a disabled association in Mzingazi Richards Bay, joined the initiative. In 2018 SME started supporting Floraton Primary after severe damage caused by rain to the classrooms. Classrooms were restored by repairing floors and roofs, replacing insulation, painting and installing new gutters and lights and new air-cons, stoves and fridges were donated and installed. In 2020 ESME assisted the Floraton Primary school in training their pupils in the principles of micro vegetable farming and how to establish their micro vegetable farms through the farmer Kidz programme. This is also helping the school to provide meals to a large number of the 900 pupils daily, as many of these children come from poverty-stricken homes and do not have the correct form of nourishment. There is a great need for qualified refrigeration technicians in the Richards Bay HVAC industry. The company aims to invest and manage an accredited refrigeration training academy in Umhlathuze City, serving the Northern Kwazulu Natal region. The benefit of supporting such a training facility is that SME Richards Bay can facilitate the practical side of these courses. The students will also be able to earn an income and at the same time the shortage of skilled HVAC technicians in the industry will be addressed. This will lead to the innovators amongst them to become independant contractors.
